FILL IN THE BLANK (4 of 4): "What Does It Look Like to Glorify God in My Fun?" HOFFMANN
Fun is often a nebulous category. It incorporates everything else in our routine outside of family and work. How do I glorify God in my leisure and rest?
1 Samuel 12:24 (ESV): Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you.
A Few Playful Suggestions on How to Glorify God in Fun
Practice renewing play
Genesis 2:1–3 (ESV): Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2 And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done. 3 So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.
Play in such a way that others are encouraged in the faith.
1 Peter 4:8–11 (ESV): Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. 9 Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. 10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: 11 whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Establish and observe healthy boundaries in our fun.
1 Corinthians 15:33 (ESV): Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”
