Position Title: Children’s Associate
Location: Cool Spring Baptist Church – Mechanicsville, VA
Position Type: Part-Time (20 hours, Non-Benefited, Non-Exempt)

Position Summary

Cool Spring Baptist Church seeks a part-time Children’s Associate to support the spiritual and developmental growth of elementary-aged children. This role partners with the Children’s Minister to foster safe, engaging, and Christ-centered environments through weekly programming, volunteer leadership, and family support.

Responsibilities:

Children’s Programming

• Assist in planning and leading Sunday morning and Wednesday evening programs
• Support summer programming and special events
• Help create engaging, age-appropriate ministry environments

Volunteer Leadership

• Recruit, support, and encourage volunteers
• Participate in team meetings and leadership development
• Assist with family ministry opportunities

Administration

• Coordinate curriculum and supplies
• Support ministry planning and execution
• Help implement ministry policies and procedures

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

• Degree in Elementary Education (preferred)
• Experience in Children’s Ministry (preferred)

Skills

• Strong understanding of child development
• Leadership, organization, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships

Personal Requirements

• Growing relationship with Jesus Christ
• Sense of calling to ministry
• Alignment with the mission, values, and beliefs of Cool Spring Baptist Church

Now Hiring: Administrative Assistant (Full-Time) 

Cool Spring Baptist Church seeks a highly organized, detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support the Recreation Ministry and the Financial Office. This full-time position provides administrative, operational, and financial support and advances the church's mission through excellent service, organization, and communication. 

The ideal candidate will have strong administrative and organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with professionalism and confidentiality. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) is essential. Experience with ACS, Realm, AI, Constant Contact, iSolve, Planning Center, Leadr, or similar church management and organizational software is preferred.
