Acts 4:1-31

Where does this boldness come from? 

1. Boldness grows from the gospel story.

 Romans 1:16 ESV: For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 

 Boldness grows from a transformed life.

 2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 

 Boldness grows from a rooted Word. 

 Colossians 3:16 ESV: Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 

4. Boldness grows from being with Jesus.

 Acts 4:13 ESV: Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.

5. Boldness grows through confident prayer.

 Hebrews 4:16 ESV: Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. 

 Boldness grows through experiencing God's power.

Acts 4:31 ESV: And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness. 

 Boldness grows into faithfulwitness.
