JESUS FOLLOWER (Week 4 of 9) Jan 31: Love Others - "Getting to Know You" (Hoffmann)

We are called to love each other. How do we actually love another? This talk will explore examples of what love looks like expressed to others.

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35 ESV

How do we love one another?

[1] FORGIVE one another

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32 ESV

[2] BEAR WITH one another

Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2 ESV

[3] ENCOURAGE one another

Therefore encourage one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4:18 ESV

[4] ACCEPT one another

May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, 6 that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 7 Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God. Romans 15:5-7 ESV

[5] HONOR one another

Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Romans 12:10

[6] SERVE one another

For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. Galatians 5:13 ESV

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35 ESV
