Kindness is defined as the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate. ~ Oxford Dictionary

Galatians 5:22–23 (ESV): But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Proverbs 21:21 (ESV): Whoever pursues righteousness and kindness will find life, righteousness, and honor.

Titus 3:4-8 (ESV) But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 8 The saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people.

Goodness: chrestotes

Loving Kindness: philanthropia

Romans 2:4 (ESV): Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?

Acts 28:2 (ESV): The native people showed us unusual kindness, for they kindled a fire and welcomed us all, because it had begun to rain and was cold.

Kindness is...

1. Kindness is redemptive

2. Kindness fosters change

3. Kindness reflects His image

4. Kindness is THE evidence

5. Kindness is character demonstrated

Brad's Definition: Kindness is the redeeming expression of care and goodness.

Homework: Write a personal working definition of kindness. Keep the definition less than ten words and repeat your statement daily for the remainder of the week.
