"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth,
where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But
store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not
destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your
treasure is, there your heart will be also. . . No one can serve two
masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be
devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and
Money."
Matthew 6:19-21 and 6:24
Stewardship is every individual's challenge to commit to serving the
Lord through the donation of his time, talents and resources. This
service furthers the Lord's work in our community and throughout the
world.
Financial support of the church by its members is key in carrying out
God's plan for the church. This financial support allows the church and
its staff to minister effectively to its members and the community, as
well as furthering the building plans of Cool Spring. Jesus Christ
looked favorably upon the donation of financial resources to the church
in His Sermon on the Mount, found in Matthew 6:19-21 and 6:24 (above).
