The Wyatt
Missionary House Dedication - June 29, 2008

“The Wyatt House” is a home named for Cool Spring missionaries, Roy and
Joyce Wyatt. The Wyatt House is a residence for International Personnel on
stateside assignment. It is located on Mills Lane which runs next to the
Cool Spring Cemetery.
Wyatt Missionary House Open House
The Wyatt Missionary House hosted its namesakes, Dr. Roy B. & Joyce C. Wyatt
for an Open House on Sunday, June 29 from 3:00-5:00 pm. The Wyatt's are
former international missionaries to Spain, Chile and Colombia.
We were honored to have Dr. Roy and Joyce Wyatt with us as well as numerous
special guests. Many people took advantage of the opportunity to see the
beautiful home for IMB personnel on stateside assignment that the Wyatt
House Team and our Cool Spring family so lovingly prepared. We welcome the
first occupants, Steve and Salva Marlin and their daughters, Anna,
Alexandra, and Adrienne Marlin.
Dr. & Mrs. Wyatt were appointed as international missionaries to Spain in
1953. After serving as Director of the Spanish Baptist Seminary in Barcelona
until 1962, Dr. Wyatt served as Associate Director of the Baptist Academy in
Temuco, Chile, teaching Bible and Philosophy. In 1967 he was invited to
serve as Professor of Old Testament and Hebrew at International Baptist
Theological Seminary in Cali, Colombia where he served until his retirement
in 1993. Dr. Wyatt then served as Distinguished Professor of Old Testament
and Hebrew at the School of Divinity, Gardner-Webb University in North
Carolina, until his second retirement in June, 1996.
Joyce is a graduate of the WMU Training School in Louisville, Kentucky and
served with Roy as Professor of Christian Education and Counseling. Her book
in Spanish on the Christian woman is in its fourth edition and she writes
for several Christian magazines. The Wyatt's currently live in Knoxville,
Tennessee.
A Letter of Thanks from the Wyatt's
Dear Friends at Cool Spring,
Thank you again for the wonderful blessing of "The Wyatt House" and the
diligent work of all who participated in its preparation. We are so honored
that you have chosen to show your love and support for missions in this way.
We pray God's special blessings on each of you and on the families who will
live there. May his kingdom be increased at Cool Spring and around the world
because of this action you have taken.
In Christ, Roy and Joyce Wyatt
