Over 900 Children
Participated in 8 games (1 cancelled due to weather).
Three Church locations were used with a usual total of 44 games per
day,
for a total of 352 games this year.
Usually about 23 half-time devotionals were given per game day, for
a total of 185 this year.
There were 88 Basketball teams with ages from Kindergarten to 7th
grade.
There were 14 Cheerleading Squads.
There were virtually uncountable numbers of volunteer hours put in
to make this a great season.

1057 children participated in grades K-7.
Over 500 volunteers participated (adults and youth).
392 games were played at 4 locations.
4 churches participated in the program: Cool Spring Baptist,
Mechanicsville Baptist,
Fairmount Christian, and Shady Grove
Methodist.
An average of 44 games were played each week!
200 Half-time devotionals were given over the 9 week period.
Information about Upward
Basketball and Cheerleading 2006Upward Basketball promotes character and self-esteem in
every child by providing:

Equal playing time for every player.
-
Separate leagues for boys and girls
(except Kindergarten).

Great strides are taken to promote competition but to
keep the emphasis away from winning at all costs.

Practice is limited to one hour each
week of the season with one game each week.

In order to emphasize the spiritual development of our
children a five-minute devotion is held at each practice.

An evaluation process provides equal
opportunity for improvement.
As a participant in Upward Basketball each child will
receive:

Reversible Mesh Jersey For Games.

Upward Basketball T-shirt.

Upward Basketball Shorts.

Upward Basketball car magnet.

Individual Awards after each game and practice.

End of the Year Award (Ex. Duffle Bag, Backpack, or
Basketball).
Upward Cheerleading promotes character and self-esteem in
every child by providing:

A one-hour practice each week of the
season.

Cheer time for one hour on game day.

As a participant in Upward Cheerleading each child will
