A few weeks ago, Pathway Kids held their first-ever “Drive-In” 1st Grade Bible Celebration! While the venue looked a bit different, the focus stayed the same. It’s always a joy to see kids opening up God’s word and experiencing the truth found within.
Every year we start with a few opening remarks before presenting the Bibles. When everyone has received their new Bible, we walk through a few verses together, allowing parents to read with their kids and discuss their findings and ideas.
This time, we presented families with five verses to read together and talk about. The fun part was that once the families found the verse, they would honk their horns! So fun!
We are so happy for our sweet 1st Graders and we pray big things for their lives!
Check out the five verses we learned together below:
Verse 1 - Psalm 119:105
Your word is like a lamp that shows me the way. It is like a light that guides me.
Verse 2 - Matthew 4:4
Jesus answered, “It is written, ‘Man doesn’t live only on bread. He also lives on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
Verse 3 - Acts 6:7
So, God’s word spread. The number of believers in Jerusalem grew quickly. Also, a large number of priests began to obey Jesus’ teachings.
Verse 4 - 1 Thessalonians 2:13
We never stop thinking God for the way you received his word. You heard it from us. But you didn’t accept it as a human word. You accepted it for what it really is. It is God’s word. It is real at work in you who believe.
Verse 5 - 1 John 2:5-6
But if anyone obeys God’s word, then that person truly loves God. Here is how we know we belong to him. Those who claim to belong to him must love just as Jesus did.
