Baptism

Who should be baptized?

Every person who believes, placing their trust and faith in Jesus as the Christ. (Acts 2:41)

Why I should be baptized?

The Bible records Jesus' baptism. As Jesus followers, we follow His example. Jesus instructed us to make disciples and baptize them. (Mark 1:9, Matthew 28:19-20)

What it the meaning of baptism?

Baptism is a symbol, an outward sign of an inward change. The act of baptism illustrates Jesus' burial and resurrection. This act of baptism illustrates your new life in Christ. Baptism doesn't make you a believer, it demonstrates that you already believe. It's important to understand that baptism does not "save" you. You are "saved" only by your faith in Jesus. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Colossians 2:12, Romans 6:4, and Ephesians 2:8-9)

Why be baptized by immersion?

As a Jesus follower, baptism by immersion is the practice demonstrated by Jesus. Every time you read about baptism in the Bible, the reference is to baptism by immersion. The word baptism means to dip under the water. (Matthew 3:16, Acts 8:38-39, 2 Corinthians 5:17)
